The second-highest standard of living in Latin America is found in Costa Rica.

According to Numbeo’s Quality of Life Index 2025, which was released this year, Costa Rica came in second in Latin America.

Based on variables including purchasing power, safety, healthcare quality, cost of living, price-to-income ratio for real estate, commute time to work, and environment, the data analysis platform assigns an average to each nation.

A better quality of life is indicated by a higher index value.

With a score of 129.4, our nation solidified its leadership in important areas that affect the welfare of its citizens.

With a score of 99.48, climate was the highest indicator, followed by health (64.2).

The cost of living was 50.1, purchasing power was 52.3, and traffic displacement was 59.9.

The lowest indicators were property price-income (10.3), safety (45.9), and pollution (42).

With a score of 139.8, Uruguay leads the Latin American rankings, and Ecuador rounds out the top three of the 11 nations examined.

On the other hand, these same elements present serious issues for other nations in the region.

The data shows that Venezuela has the lowest quality of life (79.6), followed by Chile (107), Peru (86), and Venezuela (79.6).
