Punta Coral, a tropical secondary forest private reserve located in the Gulf of Nicoya, Costa Rica. There are several white sanded beaches on the peninsula.
Located in the Gulf of Nicoya of Costa Rica and accessible only by boat, Punta Coral is set in a pristine Tropical Forest with several tree types, and has a quiet beach on one side and a valley filled with flowering plants, interesting rock formations and numerous caves on the other. Troops of howler monkeys ( I saw the howler monkeys but also white faced ), yellow napped amazon parrots, a variety of hummingbirds and butterflies call this special place “home”. There are several old mango trees on the property and the wild life is abundant for them.Costa Rica is one of the few places in the world where the Tropical Dry Forest still exists. A very interesting fact is that this reserve is not an island but is connected by corridor to the land and for that has always a current flow of flora and fauna comparing this corridor with an island.
We are looking for a sustainable developer for a unique property as a sustainable Tourist destination . This fragile property has a beautiful view on the islands in the gulf of Nicoya and has to be protected for its preservation for future generations.
You can explore more of this beautiful paradise by sea kayak, take a refreshing swim in the calm waters surrounding the reserve, explore the forest with a hike on our easy to walk trails or simply relax in the shady palms thatched hammock area and enjoy the tropical breeze This delicate eco-system is a small part of the last 2% of tropical dry Forest remaining in the world today.
With development at an all-time high in Costa Rica, it is nice to find an unspoiled property power by solar energy that boasts no artificial sounds except for the passing of a small boat or two. Also the energy created by the waves and wind energy on the top of the reserve are possible options of alternative energy.
The national park “Curu” is nearby, and the reserve is only half an hour by boat to Puntarenas, and the ferry of Pacuara is only 5 minutes nearby (located). Los Suenos distance is about 1 ½ hour by boat.Believe it or not, this place is so private and has a great location, for somebody who wants to separate from the society and hide. Only accessable by sea. By fast boat will atke only 20 minutes to Puntarenas.
Outside the reserve is a little marina and natural anker space, as an “espejo de agua”. There is no access by car only by boat to the reserve. There is a well on the reserve but during summer season is limited on the amount of water. Owner states that the zoning laws is dedicated a Boutique hotel of 20 to 30 rooms or a glamping infraestructure . The current infrastructure is a house, storeroom, rancho, bathrooms, and a small pier. The beach area is about 100 mt2 and has emerald sand color.
There are basically two high ridges on the property with amazing views and some building possibility.
This property is a concession with the Government to be renewed for 25 years.
There are gabions constructed against erosion of the beach. Included in the listing price is a 4000 meter lot and the reason that this lot is included is for water access from the National Water company. Also this lot serves as a storeroom or even a small lodge could be constructed as a basecamp.
Owners are flexable about financing, even a lease program could be considered.
I hereby declare that I know Mr. Peter Van Hussen, owner of Eco-Realtor Costa Rica Company, for more than 5 years.
During all that time, Peter has characterized himself, among other personal merits, for been a person who loves nature and for working actively in projects, programs, commissions and working groups related to nature preservation and to environmental conservation in general.
During all the years that I worked as an environmental advisor for the Central Pacific Chamber of Commerce and for the Municipality of Garabito County, both located in Jacó City, I could observe that Peter was regularly invited to be part of projects and working commissions that had to do –among other topics- with the reduction of the environmental pollution existing in the Garabito County due to untreated sewage waters, with conservation and restoration of the watersheds that exist in the mountain zone of the county, with the problems that exist in the coastal zone, with ecotourism development, with protection and development of the nearby national parks and equivalent reserves, and in general with sustainable development of Garabito.
In all these commissions and working groups, Peter stands out for his excellent ideas and for his very active participation, and for the personal experience he demonstrated because of the jobs he has had and because of the many trips he has taken in his life.

Peter was personally recommended to me by one of his peers – a successful real estate professional – and I quickly knew why. I realized that Peter’s ethics towards responsible stewardship of land was exactly what I was looking for in marketing my unusual property of virgin forest. He listened carefully and understood my desire to search for a buyer intending to preserve the forest in perpetuity, and he already had the connections to advertise to this type of client. I am very impressed by the weight Peter places in responsibility towards a sustainable environment as an integral part of his business.David Reuland
