This beautiful natural farm is property is in Esperanza, a small village just a few minutes outside of the town of Bijagual in the mountains behind the beach towns of Playa Jaco and Tarcoles, it is just 90 minutes from the airport and 45 minutes from Jaco.
There are two recently built one-bedroom homes on the upper part of the farm with spectacular views of the farm and the surrounding hillsides and jungle mountains through the floor to ceiling sliding glass doors. Both were built in 2019. The main home is 104 square meters (1,132 square feet) surrounded by 148 square meters (1,611 square feet) of concrete patios. The kitchen has top end appliances, quartz countertops and island. The cabinets are brand new with high end fixtures. The master bedroom is specious and well built. This home has plenty of room to easily add more bedrooms and other facilities on the same site.
The second home, just below the pool is a spacious covered rancho social area with a magnificent vista and with a full kitchen atop a 70 square meter living area that includes a large bedroom and full modern bathroom. Nearby Also includes a 36 square meter (400 square feet) rustic 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom caretakers’ house.
The main home looks out over the well-built saltwater pool which is surrounded by a 100 square meter (1.100 feet) deck and lawn area. The 46 hectares farm is mostly forested with 19 of them. The Lajas Creek runs along the northwest border of the property and has 8 waterfalls and pools. There are also four freshwater springs on the farm. There are total about 10 Ha of forest especially near the creaks and waterfalls. The remainder of the farm is mostly jungle with some areas for crops and several great potential building sites.
The area is rich in wildlife and is home to Scarlet Macaws, Tucans, Arakaris, Hawks, Falcons, and many other kinds of birds. In the deepest part of the reserve there are deer, monkeys, coatimundi, racoons, and other types of mammals. It is also very rich in lumber as it has a good quantity of Teak, Sabana Oak, Cedar, Yellow Oak, and many other tree species.
My take on this property:
There are many expansion possibilities on the available terraces over the whole 50 Ha. A green living sustainable community with common areas is very possible in this area. According to the owner there are 4 big terraces for housing projects or other mixed-use activities. There is always whole year-round continuous water in the waterfalls and are located about on a 2-mile radius from the main house.
