Eden Rock is the entire southern flank of a 280 m mountain on the Pacific Coast. We bought it in 1999 to preserve the habitat of a rare group of TiTi monkeys.Eden Rock borders the Costanera Coastal Road for 1 km. Most of the mountain is covered with rainforest teeming with wildlife. !00m above sea level lies a 6 hectare natural step. This is the cleared part on which the house lies. It is slightly tilted making it possible to easily build a whole settlement, all while keeping the view of the sea for each house. The view is of the Rio Terraba meandering towards you through its protected Mangrove Forest, the string of mangrove islands which separate it from the sea, the Pacific with Cano Island on the horizon, Drake Bay, and the Osa Peninsula. Eden Rock has its own untouched rainforest, with two springs which supply our water. Within the forest and on top of the mountain as well as along the road are areas which are flat enough to build on.The House is of poured concrete with 5 bedrooms, two bathrooms, a large kitchen and a spacious living room. There is some land for sale across the road which gives access to the river. By boat you can cross the river to reach the wild, secluded beaches of the string of islands, or enter the Pacific two kilometers west. You can also go through the mangroves to the airport of Palmar Sur.Ojochal with its francophone community and its well-known restaurants is 4 km to the west. A town center with the new Citrus Restaurant, Doctor, dentist and gourmet stores is being built. The Marine National Park of Ballena is 15 km to the West. The Village of Coronado with a basic shop and medical service is 2 km from Eden Rock s entrance. The hospital of Cortez is 15 km away, the airport of Palmar Sur 20 km. The San Buenaventura Golf is about 8 km away.A constant sea breeze bathes this mountain. It would be perfect for a center of well being.
We have kept the entire property completely organic.
